titleOfInvention | CHAMOMILE EXTRACT, METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF AND ITS USE AS A MEDICINAL PRODUCT |
abstract | Camomile extract consisting of camomile dry extract contg. genuine contents of camomile and opt. conventional auxilliaries and additives contains at least 0.5 wt.% matricin in the dry extract. Pref. the extracts contain up to 4 wt.% matricin in the dry extract. The dry extract is obtd. by lipophilic extn. of camomile or by mixt. of lipophilic and hydrophilic extn. The extract also contains stabilisers chosen from tocopherols, butylhydroxyanisole, butylhydroxy toluene and their synergists, and surfactants chosen from lecithins, ethoxylated fatty alcohols or partial glycerides, sorbitan anhydride or its partial ethers and esters as the auxilliaries and additives. The extract contains an anhydrous, lipophilic diluent. USE/ADVANTAGE - The camomile extract contains the more effective original ingredient matricin in the highest possible concn. and in stable form which is standardisable and can be used to prepare storage stable pharmaceuticals or as pharmaceutical itself. The matricin has more effective antiphologistic, antiallergic and reparative properties than its degradation prod., chamazulen, into which it is usually converted when camomile extracts are prepd. |
