abstract Recycled plastic moulding materials (I) are claimed, contg. (A) 100 pts. wt. recycled polyolefin or polystyrene (PS), 5-100 pts. wt. recycled thermoset contg. crosslinked plastic and reinforcing fibres, (C) 0-40 wt. % acid and/or ester-gp. contg. ethylene copolymer and (D) 0-50 wt. % normal additives. Also claimed is a process for producing (I), by melting (A) in an extruder, opt. with (C) adding pulverised (B) and opt. (D) and homogenising the mixt. (A) is pref. scrap LDPE film, or scrap film or mouldings based on HDPE, PP or PS. (B) is crushed SMC or BMC scrap, pref. contg. 20-80 wt. % crosslinked UP resin, 10-40 wt. % fibre (pref. glass fibre) and 0-70 wt. % filler (pref. chalk) and consisting of plastic-coated fibres or fibre bundles more than 0.5mm long. (I) are antistatic materials contg. 4-40 wt. % carbon black as additive (D), or electrically conducting materials for electromagnetic screening, contg. 3-30 wt. % metallic fibres as (D). USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are useful for producing tubes, sections, sheetings, and injection moulded prods.
