Described is a method of preparing alkyl and/or alkenyl oligoglycosides with short reaction times and in high yields by acetalating glucose with fatty alcohols at elevated temperature in the presence of sulphomonocarboxylic acids with 2 to 8 carbon atoms, anhydrides of such acids or mixed cyclic sulphonic acid/carboxylic acid anhydrides as acid catalysts, removing the water of reaction and subsequently processing up the reaction products. |
