abstract Compsns. (I) contain (all pts. by wt., on dry wt.) (A) 15-30 % binder and fuel (B) 10-30% filler (C) 1-5% TiO2 as catalyst (D) 45-60 % oxidn. agent. Pref. binder is vegetable or animal glue, opt. modified starch, opt. modified cellulose, and/or organic nonacidic polymer, pref. hide glue with viscosity 120-140 mPa.s, potato flour and/or tapioca, hydroxyethylcellulose, carboxy-methylcellulose (II), or polyvinyl acetate (III). Fuel is S and/or resin. Filler is SiO2-contg. material, pref. kieselguhr, pumice, glass flour, kaolin, diatomaceous earth (sic), and/or ZnO. Partic. filler is SiO2-contg. material with particle size 100-300 microns and/or ZnO with particle size 10-30 microns. (I) also contain boric acid as catalyst. Oxidn. agent is KClO3, TiO3, S, and KClO3 have particle size 10-70 microns. (I) contain 7-11% hide glue, 0.5-2% starch, 0.1-0.3% (III), 0.05-0.2% (II), 4-5% kieselguhr, 0.3-1.5% pumice, 7-22% glass flour, 1-15% ZnO, 2-3.5% TiO2, 1-8% S, 1-3% resin, and 50-56% KClO3. Or (I) contain 12-16% hide glue, 0.03-0.1.5% (II), 4-5% kieselguhr, 6-10% pumice, 10-15% glass flour, 2-3.5% TiO2, 0.5-1.5% boric acid, 0.5-3% resin, and 48-55% KClO3. ADVANTAGE - (I) are free from chromate and Mn oxide which are undesirable on toxicological grounds, and readily, quickly, and safely prep
