titleOfInvention | FIBER ARMED COMPOSITE MATERIAL |
abstract | Composite material (I) based on cement comprises 0.005-15 wt.% polydimethyldiallylammonium chloride (polyquat) of mol.wt. of at least 20,000. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) can be used in the construction industry as an alternative to asbestos-cement products and for vapour hardened Ca-silicate hydrate building materials. (I) contains no process fibres and has improved refractory properties. In an example, 210ml H2O were stirred with 0.35g sulphate cellular material, 9.3 Portland cement and 6.1g silicate for 10 mins. After adding 4.8ml K-water glass soln., the aq. suspension was stirred for a further 5 mins. and then reacted with 1.5g polyquat. The mixt. was dewatered over a glass fibre mat. Solids content of the mixt. was 0.73% corresp. to a comparable process-fibre-contg. mixt. contg. 2% sulphate cellular material. It has a lower sedimentation speed than the comparative process fibre mi |
