Pollutants are removed from gaseous, liq. and/or solid materials by chemisorption using as absorber either (a) an aq. soln. lf at least one water-soluble aluminate (A) at an OH-concn. which excludes the possibility of Al(OH3) formation, or (b) a material (B) made from at least one (A) and one or more Ca cpds. (at least partially soluble in water) in presence of water, opt. together with one or more carbonates, CO2 and/or CO2-contg. gases. (B) are new cpds. which are prepd. with a Ca (as Ca(OH)2):aluminate (as Al(OH)3) mole ratio of 2:1 or more, opt. followed by removal of excess water. More specifically, (A) is an alkali(ne earth) cpd., or a clay mineral or cement which contains such cpds., esp. Na aluminate. |
