A method for preparing hydrogen peroxide by reaction of a gaseous mixture containing hydrogen and oxygen in an aqueous reaction medium containing less than 2 vol. % of organic components and in the presence of a metallic catalyst is characterized in that the catalyst used is a palladium/gold alloy containing 5 to 95 atom per cent of gold or a palladium/iridium or palladium/rhodium bimetal containing 1 to 15 atom per cent of iridium or rhodium, respectively. |
