abstract The measurement probe (3) is fed into a hollow rod (2) inserted into the ground. Specific measurement probes can be used to determine individual thermal parameters. Each measurement probe can contain several sensors arranged in a row. The measurement probe can be heated using a heating wire. The hollow rod is made of metal, pref. steel, and has a heavy conical tip (1) at the lower end. The outer dia. of the probe is less than the internal dia. of the cylindrical tube. USE/ADVANTAGE -Detecting leakage or table water level. Early warning of breakdown of seals in channel or pipe systems or leakage from dams or deposits contg. organic substances. Overcomes disadvantages of conventional methods, including unstable bore holes and potential damage to sensor mechanisms.
