titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING GRANULATED AMMONIUM SULFATE
abstract Prepn. of granulated ammonium sulphate with improved storage-, transport- and spreading- properties, by compacting with an added pressing auxiliary or binding agent, comprises addn. of 0.1-5 wt.% of starch or a starch deriv. to crystalline ammonium sulphate prior to granulation. USE/ADVANTAGE - Ammonium sulphate is useful as a fertiliser in agriculture and forestry. It is produced as a by-prod. of gas purificn. and in prodn. of e.g., caprolactom or acrylonitrile. The prod. has the same fertilising capacity as the pure salt, but the pressures required for the granulation process are lower than for the pure salt granulate. The grain strength of the mixed granulate is higher than that of the pure salt granulat
