titleOfInvention BIOCHEMICAL ANALYZER AND PRISMA CELL USED IN THE ANALYZER FOR ATTENUATED TOTAL REFLECTION
abstract A biochemical analyser has (a) an attenuated total reflection prism, on the surface of which is placed a sample cell for receiving a liq. sample from a sample feed device; (b) a device (pref. a sequential freezing device) for providing several object molecules in a proximal sample portion near the sample face of the prism; (c) an IR source for the prism; (d) a detector for detecting the absorption spectrum of the reflected IR light after the distal sample portion has solidified; and (e) a computer for calculating the detected absorption spectrum. USE/ADVANTAGE - The analyser is used esp. for blood analysis. The object substance is concentrated at the surface of the prism. to acheive a stronger spectrum signal thus improving detection precision.
