titleOfInvention | HEAT-SENSITIVE RECORDING SHEET |
abstract | Thermographic sheet has (A) at least 2 intermediate layers based on an inorganic pigment (I) with an oil absorption (JIS K5101) of at least 50 ml/100 g and a binder, and (B) a colour developing layer, on the adjacent intermediate layer (AA), which contains an electron donor leuco dyestuff (II), an electron acceptor cpd., which causes colour development on heating (II), and a binder. The novelty is that (AA) contains 0.3-3 wt.% carboxy-methylcellulose (CMC) and/or hyroxyethylcellulose (HEC) w.r.t. (I). (B) contains 2-(p-methylbenzyloxy) naphthalene or bis(p-methylbenzyl) oxalate. (II) has an average vol. particle size of 0.3-1.0 mciron (measured by laser diffraction). (AA) contains CMC and/or HEC in an amt. such that the ratio of CMC/HET to (I) in (AA) is greater than this ratio in each other (A). USE/ADVANTAGE - The material has a better thermal reaction and excellent sensitivity, minimises soiling of the thermal head and gives prints with excellent stability. Materials of this type are useful with facsimile and labelling equipment and printers. |
