abstract | Acylpentanoyl amidoglycine derivs. of formula R2OCH2CH(NHR1) (CH2)2CONHCH2COOH (I) and their acid addn. salts are new. In (I) R1 and R2 are each opt. substd. acyl. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are immunomodulators with an influence on unspecific antimicrobial resistance and can be used for the systemic increase of the immune response and to increase unspecific immunity. (I) can be used in the treatment or supportive treatment of diseases resulting from ideopathic immune deficiency or from immune deficiencies such as arise in geriatric patients or in patients with severe burns or generalised infections. (I) can also be used in the treatment or supportive treatment of viral diseases (such as disseminated herpes, progressive pox diseases and disseminated varicella diseases and Morbus Hodgkin and other malign tumours. (I) can also be used in the prophylaxis of endotoxin shock, e.g., in accidents, burns and surgical operations and as antiinflammatories. Suitable doses are 0.1-70mg i.p. used once to achieve an adjuvant effect, e.g., in supportive treatment or daily, divided into 2-4 unit doses or in retard form. |
