Sliding member comprises base material with the sliding surface coated with composite plating film comprising Ni-alloy matrix contg. 0.1-10% of B, with dispersed hard grains of 10 micron or less dia. and/or grains of solid lubricant of 10 micron or less dia., co pptd. at amt. of 5-30 vol.% in film. Hard grains pref. are of 0.3-10 micron dia., and are selected from those of Si3N4, SiC, WC, Al2O3, ZrO2, Cr2O3; and lubricants e.g. sulphides and borides, and self-lubricant synthetic resins. |
