titleOfInvention METHOD FOR COLORING CELLULOSE TEXTILE MATERIAL
abstract The application of a reactive dye to a cellulosic substrate is claimed. A dying assistant selected from the condensation products of sulphonated diphenyl ethers, sulphonated ditolyl ethers, polydiphenylsulphones or polyditolylsulphones with formaldehyde and having the general formula in free acid or salt form (I) where x and y are independently 0 or 1, at least x or y must be 1 each R is independently H, methyl or halogen and n is an integer 1-6; (added at a level of .05-5 g/l, preferably .2-2/6 g/l) is added to an aqueous liquor, optionally contg. a salt. (100g/l). The substrate is added to the dyebath and at least one reactive dye is added and the dye is then fixed by adding an alkali e.g. sodium hydroxide, carbonate, silicate or phosphate after at least 2 mins. immersion. The dyeing process is an exhaust process. The added salt is selected from NaCl and Glauber salt. The composition contains a dyeing assistant (1-50%), an alkali metal tetraborate (1-50%), a solubilising agent (0-30%) e.g. methanol, butanol, diethylene glycol, sorbite, monobutyldiglycol eher, butyrolactone or N-methylpyrrolidone (14 names) and water (0-80%). A complexing agent may also be added. The substrate can be natural or synthetic cellulosic fibres or a mixture of the two.
