abstract Copolymers (I) from (A) D, L-lactide and (B) epsilon-caprolactone, delta-valerolactone, gamma-decalactone or beta-hydroxybutyric acid are used for the topical treatment of human and animal skin. More specifically, (I) are prepd. by reacting (A) with (B) in the molar ratio 70:30 to 95:5 in the presence of a metal carboxylate initiator at 150 deg.C for 16-48 hrs.
