abstract A first embodiment of the invention concerns the use of radically reactive crosslinking components based on olefinically unsaturated esters of low hydroxycarboxylic acids and/or their oligomers to modify depot materials, in particular retard systems, containing medical and/or biological valuable substances admixed with a carrier material, for the delayed release of the active substances. The crosslinking agents are present as polymer compounds in the application form of the retard system and may be distributed uniformly or non-uniformly in the retard system or depot material. The invention also concerns retard systems containing medical and/or biological valuable substances and based on oligomer and/or polymer compounds of low hydroxycarboxylic acids as carrier material providing delayed release of the active substances. The invention is characterized in that these retard systems or depot materials are modified with polymer compounds of olefinically unsaturated esters of low hydroxycarboxylic acids and/or their oligomers.
