In cultivation of fungal mycelia, potato pulp, opt. with addn. or removal of water, is brought to a doughy or crumby consistency, with total extracellular water content of 30-90 wt.%, and the culture medium so obtd. is inoculated with mycelia. Pref. the total extracellular water content is 40-85 wt.%. Substances contg. lignin, lignocellulose and/or cellulose, esp. sawdust or wood chips, are added, esp. in amt. of up to 1.2x (0.1-1x) the total amt. of extracellular water. Potato drainings may also be added. The culture medium contains at least 10 wt.%, as dry matter, of potato pulp. The inoculated mycelia are cultured for at least 24h. ADVANTAGE - The process is simple and needs no pre-treatment of the substrate, thus avoiding foreign contamination. Esp., mycelia of Pleurotus florida, Pleurotus spec. P7H7, FR 13030, PX1, SOP 3030, P. ostreatus, P. hauser ostreatus, P. fuku, Trametes versicolor, Bjerkandera adusta, Oudemansiella radicata, Phanaerochaete chrysosporium are cultivated |
