abstract A process for the control and calibration of the measurement indicators of an analysis device for physiological liquids uses, in addition to (a) the measurement parameters for the substances dissolved in the physiological liquid, (b) conductivity measurements which indicate the relative cell packing volume of the cells in the physiological liquids. The individual measurement cells are filled with an aq. soln. contg. defined ideal values for the dissolved substances which are to be measured (component (A)) and in which, in order to simulate a defined ideal value for the relative cell packing volume, non-ionic, electrode-compatible, water-soluble substances (component (B)) which are essentially inert to the other components of the soln. are dissolved in a corresponding defined concn. and are used for simultaneous accuracy control of the individual measurement indicators by comparing with the corresponding defined ideal value of the aq. control soln. and then opt. calibrating the sensors in the individual measurement cells. A control and calibrating liquid contains, both components (A) and (B). USE/ADVANTAGE - The process and the control and calibrating liquid can be used in routine analyses of physiological liquids esp. in medical emergency cases, giving rapid functional and quality control.
