WET ELECTROFILTER AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF |
abstract |
A simple filter web is constructed by resin bonding a stack of plastic pipe sections, preferably with regular hexagonal cross section. The outsides of the pipes are fitted with earthing strips (3) which are joined to form a continuous connection to all the pipes. The contact to the insides of the pipes is via holes (4) through the pipes at each end of each pipe section. The filter is coated with a conducting fluid, continuously washed through the web. A central electrode wire through each pipe section provides an ionising field with the earthed fluid. Gasses e.g. sulphurous gasses, are ionised and absorbed into the fluid. ADVANTAGE - Earthing contacts have large contact area and allow simplified construction. |
