titleOfInvention GEL FOR PHENOL, CRESOL AND XYLENOL RESIN KIT, AND METHOD FOR HARDENING THIS KIT
abstract A gel for phenol-, cresol and xylenol-resinous cements comprises a mixt. of 17.6-23 wt. % of 74% sulphuric acid and/or 68-13 wt. % p-toluene sulphonic acid (PTSA) hydrate, 7-13 wt. % amorphous silicic acid and 25-54 wt. % water. Also claimed is the hardening of phenol-, cresol- and xylenol- resinous cements by reacting a resin mixt., quartz, graphite, talc etc. and sulphuric acid, the novelty being that a sulphuric acid bound hard gel from PTSA and amorphous silicic acid is used. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used esp. for acid protection construction. The obtd. hard gels are suitable for the prodn. of ceramic tiles for producing chemical resistant walls. The gels are easily prepd. and can be transported to the worksite and processed there, without producing health impairment due to toxic reactions, etc. The resinous cements show uniform hardening and the prodn. of toxic chemicals is inhibited, giving an environmentally friendly working method>
