| abstract |
Prodn. of topical compsn. with pref. antimycotic and simultaneously antibacterial activity comprises incorporating a bis: thiadiazole of formula (I) into a suitable base compsn. (consisting of usual galenical base materials and additives, opt. including preservative) at 0.1-2.5%. X = Cl or Br. The compsn. is (a) a (semi) liq. lotion or cream, partic. of the oil-in-water emulsion type; (b) a powder, or (c) a spray. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) have broad spectra of activity against pathogenic moulds and yeasts and also bacteriostatic activity. They are more effective than known azole derivs. and because of their low solubility, (I) hardly penetrate the skin so that the systemic side effects are reduced. |
