abstract Optically active 2,3-dihydro-thiazolo(2,3-a)isoindolinones(I) and their tautomers are new. In (I) R = (R)- or(S)-orientated H, opt. phenyl-substd. alkyl, alkenyl or alkynylwith up to 7C or phenyl opt. substd. by 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy,OH, CF3, MeSO2 and/or halogen, and n = 0 or 1. In the prepn. of(I), the corresp. racemates are resolved by analytical,semi-preparative or preparative chromatography using opticallyactive phases, e.g. polyacrylamides, cellulose esters/carbamates,cyclodextrins, crown ethers or microcrystalline cellulosetriacetate.
