abstract |
Described is a free-running granular material whose main component is finely particulate bleach activators for textile laundering and a substantially water-free binder phase consisting mainly of solid material. This binder phase is a homogenized mixture of surfactants, at least a proportion of the components of the mixture being fluid or at least plastic at the granule-formation temperature and the composition of the mixture being selected so that the binder phase softens to become fluid or plastic, without the need to add water, at the granule-formation temperature. The granular bleach activators can be produced by mixing the finely divided bleach activators with the surfactant components, homogenizing the resulting mixture at preferably only moderately elevated temperatures to give an extrudable compound and extruding using high pressure, the extruded strands being cut into the required grain-shape lengths and optionally rounded, under process conditions which avoid sticking of the freshly extruded material. |
