abstract A bucket wheel (4) forces the suspension through a lock into a surge chamber (5) where it is exchanged for air. It is displaced from the chamber by compressed air from the motor (3) and leaves through an outlet (7) in the base. Shearing bars (8) for cutting the fibres are fitted to the bucket wheel blades and inlet aperture. USE/ADVANTAGE - A simple, economical and robust pump which will meter amounts of 1 - 10m3/h with reduced risk of blockage.
