A compsn. with deodorising action contains (a) the Zn salt of ricinoleic acid and/or of abietic acid and/or of at least 16C (un)satd. hydroxylated fatty acids, (b) 5-50 wt% of an ethoxylated 10-18C (un)branched fatty alcohol with less than 30 EO, and (c) 5-30% of a tert. amine. Pref. (c) is a tert. aminoalcohol, esp. triethanolamine or N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-hydroxypropyl)ethylene diamine. The compsn. may contain up to 10 wt% of a short-chain alcohol, glycol or glycol ether, esp. ethanol, 1,2-propylene glycol or dipropylene glycol. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compsn. is used in cosmetics, household prods., washing compsns., and for technical deodorising, and may be in pump-spray solns., liq. soaps, hair shampoos and rinses, deodorant sprays and creams, and all-purposes cleaners. The compsn. may contain up to 60 wt% of water. The solubility of the Zn ricinoleate in the compsn., and the flow, are better, and the salt remains sol. during prolonged storage and at high water content. |
