abstract Blood pressure measuring equipment includes an applicator sleeve, a channel pumped to hypersystolic pressure and sensor, which measures the pressure in the channel and which provides an output signal for a processing unit, the novelty being that the processing unit only performs pressure measurement when no dynamic pressure changes occur. Pref. the sensor has an electrically conductive elastomeric membrane or strip structure exhibiting conductivity change on mechanical stress application, the elastomer pref. being silicone rubber contg. carbon or other conductive particles.
