abstract | Colour photographic recording materials use a yellow, coupler of formula (I) or (II) and a purple coupler of formula Py-B (III), where Py = 1-phenyl-3-anilinopyrazolone-type gp.; B = a stabilising gp. of formula (IV) which is not bound to the coupling site; R1 = H or 1-12C alkyl; R2 = H, 1-8C alkoxy, hydroxy, 4-8C alkyl or -NH-SO2-Alk; R3 = H, hydroxy, 1-12C alkoxy, 1-8C alkyl or -NH-SO2-Alk; R4 = alkylcarbonylalkoxy or 1-8C alkyl; n = 1-4; m = 0 or 1; X = -O- or -S-; R5 = a heterocyclic gp.; R6 = H or a cleavable gp.; R7 = Cl or 1-18C alkoxy; R8 = 1-15C alkyl or a bond to a polymeric structure, and R9 = acylamino, alkoxycarbonyl, sulphonamido or aminosulphonyl. The recording materials pref. have a reflecting base on which are arranged, in order, at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contg. at least one yellow coupler of formula (I) or (II), at least one green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contg. at least one purple coupler of formula (III) and at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contg. at least one blue-green coupler. The silver halide content in the blue-sensitive layer is at most 2.7 mmol./m2 and the yellow coupler is used at upto 0.9 mmol/m2. ADVANTAGE - Colour images are rapidly obtd. having enhanced yellow colour quality. |
