| abstract | To wind a stem on the button, stitched to a garment, after the stem has been wound the elastomeric thread is moved away from the stem at about right angles to its axis with an increased pulling force above its elastic limit before it is severed at the stem. The stem winding thread is pulled at a force above its breaking strain to be severed by shearing. A thread is used with a stretch of 100-600%, pref. 400-600%, and pref. an elasthane thread. |
