abstract A catalyst for NOx removal from waste gases in an oxidising atmos., has one or more active elements applied onto a porous support of crystalline silicoaluminophosphate. Pref. the support has uniform pores of more than 0.3 nm. nominal dia. and has an anhydrous compsn. of formula (SixAlyPz)O2 (x+y+z is 1, x is 0.01 to less than 0.8, z is greater than 0.01). USE/ADVANTAGE - The catalyst is used for NOx removal from exhaust gases under lean burn conditions (air/fuel ratio more than 14.7). It has heat resistance and durability superior to conventional zeolite-based catalysts.
