abstract | Colour photographic Ag halide (AgX) material has a base, red-sensitive AgX emulsion coat(s) contg. cyan coupler(s), green-sensitive AgX emulsion coat(s) contg. magenta coupler(s), blue-sensitive AgX emulsion coat(s) contg. yellow coupler(s) and 2 non-light-sensitive layers A and B, all on the same side of the base, A being further from the base than all the light-sensitive coats and B further from the base than A. The novel features are a polymer (II) contg. reactive gps., a hydrophilic binder (III), esp. gelatin, a lubricant (IV) and a thickener (V); and B an alkali-insol. spacer, (II), (IV), (V) and an instant hardener (VI). The material also has another non-light-sensitive layer C, which is further from the base than all the light-sensitive coats but nearer the base than A and B. C contains (III), a UV absorber and a non-light-sensitive AgX emulsion with an average particle dia. less than 0.1 micron. Ba also contains (I) and a small amt. of (III). USE/ADVANTAGE - A and B can be cast with other light-sensitive and non-light-sensitive coats, making mfr. more economical than the usual method in which these coats have to be applied separately. The material can be colour negative, reversal or positive film or colour photographic or colour reversal paper. |
