titleOfInvention USE OF FOAMED STRENGTH
abstract Foamed starch in the form of particles can be used as an additive in composting or to improve soil. Pref. the starch particles are 2-10 mm. When used in the composting of clear or watery muds, esp. contamined mud, the starch particles are pref. mixed with the mud which has been substantially dried. Alternatively the starch particles are mixed with soil or the crude compost in the cases of improving soil or composting organic waste. USE/ADVANTAGE - The starch particles are porous and have a large surface area to and are thus able to loosen and aerate the compost or soil and thus save the need to turn the soil or rotting compost repeatedly in order to promote microbial growth and the biological degredation of the organic components. The starch particles can be used to compost organic waste, be it of domestic or industrial origin, but are esp. useful in the composting of clear and watery mud, such as habour mud, esp. contaminated mud, and to improve the soil in fields or contaminated soil. The starch is able to a large extent to remove organic poisons.
