titleOfInvention NMR TOMOGRAPHICALLY CONTROLLED STEREOTACTIC LASER COAGULATION
abstract A NMR tomograph (1) for tumour location and coagulation and for the monitoring of therapy during interstitial laser irradiation via quartz light conducting fibres (3) relieves the patient from surgery and long handling. A multiplanar x-ray device is coupled to the NMR tomograph to enable the therapy fibres (3) to be placed in the vol. of the tumour using point ion probes (33) and the coordinates (7) of the tumour determined by the NMR tomograph. USE/ADVANTAGE - Irradiating tumours, e.g. of liver, with laser light. Enables tumour removal with small side effects on patient.
