Metal organyls are crosscoupled with halo cpds. or perfluoroalkyl sulphonates to obtain cpds. R-Z-(Q)m-R by A) reacting in known manner a) a known organometallic cpd. R-Z-M with b) a known cpd. Y-(Q)m-R and B) using as transition metal catalyst Pd opt. deposited on a support, and opt. carrying out the reaction in presence of a metal alcoholate. In the formulae each R is independently a substituent a) alkyl or alkenyl opt. substd. by CN or halogen and contg. O, S or a triple bond as well as b) an aromatic or alicyclic or heterocyclic cpd. opt. substd. by gps. contg. O or N or by hydrocarbyl; Q is (substd)ethylidene; Z is a single bond or 1-4 C alkylene opt. substd. by CN or halogen; M is e.g. Li, K, Al(X)2, Hg(X); X is e.g. halogen, 1-6 C alkyl; Y is halogen or OSO2-CnF2n+1. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as liquid crystalline materials (precusors); relatively readily avilable raw materials are used; good yields are obtd. by a relatively mild and stereoselective process. |
