abstract |
Process for disinfecting hard surfaces with chlorine dioxide in non-corrosive conditions and with stable water-hardness, said chlorine dioxide being made in solution by mixing a solution of sodium chlorite and an acid component in a generator. The process is characterized in that the concentration of the sodium chlorite solution is 2 to 40 % by weight, and a sequestering agent or complexing agent or a mixture of sequestering agents and complexing agents is used as the acid component, water hardness stabilizer and corrosion inhibitor. The sequestering agent or the complexing agent is used in a concentration of 1 to 60 % by weight, whose 1 % aqueous solution has a pH of < 7, and the chlorine dioxide concentration is between 0.1 and 500 ppm. |
