titleOfInvention PERMANENT MAGNET
abstract The invention concerns a permanent magnet with at least one inter-metallic compound with a tetragonal crystal structure and containing at least one rare earth (R), at least one transition metal (TM) and boron (B). The materials used, which are inexpensive and give a permanent magnet with excellent magnetic properties, are characterized by the composition (R)2TM14B1 + (R)2TM14C1 + an (R)-rich boundary phase, (R)2TM14B1 and (R)2TM14C1 in the tetragonal crystal structure forming magnetic phases, while the (R)-rich boundary phase is non-magnetic and the contents of B and C are governed by the relationship Q = SIGMA Bw + C1-w where w = 0.9 to 0.99.
