abstract New fusion proteins (I) comprise a proinsulin analogue (II) linked to the C terminus of an N-terminal fragment comprising opt. modified tendamistate (III). (II) comprises insulin B chain liked to insulin A chain via a Lys or Lys-Lys bridge. Also claimed are gene constructs coding for (I), vectors contg. such constructs, and streptomycete cells contg. such vectors. The gene constructs are produced by coupling the structural gene for (II) to an opt. modified tendamistate gene. The structural gene comprises a sequence coding for the B chain linked to a sequence coding for the A chain via a sequence coding for Lys or Lys-Lys.
