titleOfInvention GAS LASER
abstract A gas laser, in particular a carbon dioxide laser, comprises two coaxial high-voltage electrodes (5, 7) which enclose a gas-discharge space (10), in particular in the form of an annular gap, through which gas flows. Deflecting mirrors (3, 11) which repeatedly deflect the beam path are arranged at the ends of the gas-discharge space. The gas-discharge space is connected to a cooling channel (15) in which the gas is recycled. The cooling channel has at least one fan coaxial with the gas-discharge space and at least one gas cooler coaxial with the gas-discharge space. To simplify the construction of the gas laser and to reduce the radial dimensions, the cooling channel (15) with the gas cooler (8) in which the gas is recycled, is arranged inside the inner electrode (5) and the fan is a radial fan (13) the outer diameter (16) of which is at the most approximately equal to the diameter (17) of the deflecting mirrors (3, 11).
