titleOfInvention | MULTILAYER ANALYSIS ELEMENT |
abstract | Multilayered unalytical element comprises a carrier layer on which are deposited, in order (1) a reagent layer contg. a hydrophilic binder (I) or (2) a porous spreading layer. The reagent layer contains fine particles of a hydrophobic carrier (II) which contains (a) an ionophor (III), able to form a complex with an ion; (b) an indicator (N) giving a detectable signal by interaction with the (III)-ion complex and (c) at least one anionic surfactant (V). (II) is an organic solvent of high or low b.pt. and (v) which is present at 0.05-5 (esp. 0.1-1)g/sq,m has a counterion different from the ion being analysed. USE/ADVANTAGE - The element is used in clinical diagnosis for qualitative and quantitative colorimetric measurement of ions in biolgical fluids. They have better accuracy, reproducibility and storage stability. |
