abstract |
(A) a low temp. sintering ceramic compsn. consists of (i) 40-90 wt. % finely divided refractory material with a thermal expansion coefficient (0-400 deg.C) of max. 5 x 10 power (-6) k-1 and (ii) 10-60 wt. % finely divided glass with a softening pt. of 650-850 deg.C a thermal expansion coefficient similar to that of the refractory material and a dielectric constant (10 poewr (6) Hz, 20 deg.C) of below 5. The refractory material has the compsn. (by wt.) 14.7-16.1% MgO, 36-8-40.8% l203, and 43.8-47.8% Si02. USE/ADVANTAGE - The ceramic is useful for prodn. of microelectronics substrates and multilayer housings use of the refractory material instead of the usual cordierite gives improved electrical, mechanical and chemical properties. |
