abstract The invention relates to a pharmaceutical agent based on vitamin A and carotene, possibly with the addition of conventional auxiliaries, for the sequential therapy of true mastalgia in separate doses, where the dose unit for the first stage of treatment contains 50,000 to 100,000 IU vitamin A in a form soluble in water or in the digestive tract, possibly with the addition of 15-45 mu g carotene, and that for the second stage has 20-40 mg carotene, especially beta-carotene, and the usual antioxidants, excipients and auxiliaries as necessary.
