titleOfInvention | METHOD FOR CREATING OR PRINTING A TEXTILE SUBSTRATE |
abstract | In dyeing or printing a textile by treating it with a chemical and dyestuff(s), an ion-selective dyestuff (I) is used and the chemical is a soln. or dispersion of a cation (II), pref. an inorg. cation. (I) is applied first, then the textile is treated (a) immediately or later with (II), which reacts with (I) to form a complex cpd.; or (b) first with (IIA) and later with a (IIB), (IIA) and (IIB) being different. In printing, the textile is printed with (I) combined with a suitable thickener (III), then (I) is fixed thermally, esp. with steam, and the textile is washed in the presence of (II), pref. in a domestic washing machine, esp. in the case of finished articles of clothing. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process makes it possible to change the colour (hue and depth of colour) of dyed and printed goods easily and without problems and is suitable for large scale or private use. The technique makes it possible to produce prints on a coloured ground without using costly colour discharge printing. |
