abstract | Anti-snoring compsns. containa 0.02-2 wt.% of a surfactant (I) and 0.002-0.5 wt.% of a preservative (II), opt. together with a microbicide (III), a buffer (IV) and an antioxidant (V). (I) is pref. polyoxyethylene sorbitan monooleate (Ia) or benzalkonium chloride (Ib). Pref., (II) is EtOH, a p-hydroxybenzoate ester, sorbic acid or a sorbate ester. (III) is a substance with a bactericidal and fungicidal action on mucous membranes, esp. (Ib) or chlorobutanol. (V) is a cpd. that inhibits oxidn. of unsatd. fatty acids, esp. EDTA. (IV) is present in an amt. sufficient to give a pH of 4-8. The compsns. may also contain vitamins A and E and hydrolase, lipase and protease enzymes. ADVANTAGE - The compsns. can be applied to the mucosa of the nose and throat without causing irritation (cf. EP53754). (6pp Dwg.No 0/0) |
