abstract | The invention relates to an organic chemical compound with the following properties: 1. Appearance: pale yellow crystalline solid 2. Melting point: about 242@C (Thiele determination) 3. Solubility: The substance is soluble in methanol and ethyl acetate and sparingly soluble in water. 4. Molecular weight (MW): 424 The mass spectrum shows the molecular ion peak at m/e 424. (There is evidence in the spectrum of the presence of an aromatic system and possibly an acetyl group and several methyl groups.) 5. UV spectrum: <IMAGE> = 215 nm, 270 nm and 342-345 nm 6. IR spectrum and to a process for its preparation from the microorganism strain Phomopsis viticola F 0377 (deposition number DSM 5267) or its mutants. The compound can be used as pest-control agent, in particular for controlling bacteria and harmful fungi and unwanted plant growth. |
