abstract | The blocked polyisocyanates (I) are prepd. by reacting (A) half-blocked polyisocyanate, substantially freed from unblocked monomeric polyisocyanate by thin film distn., with (B) prim. and/or sec. polyamine in NCO:amino gp. ratio 1-1.3:1. The polyisocyanate which is thin film distn. having b.pt. in vaccum below deblocking temp. of blocking agent is employed. (A) is prepd. from 1 mol. blocking agent and 5-20 mols. polyisocyanate. Polyisocyanate is aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic di-isocyanate, partic. hexamethylene-1, 6-di-isocyanate, 2-methylpentane-1, 5-di-isocyanate, 2, 2, 4- or 2, 4, 4-trimethylhexamethylene-1, 6-di-isocyanate, or 3-isocyanatomethyl -3, 5, 5-trimethylcyclohexyl isocyanate (II). (A), after thin film distn., contains up to 6.5, esp. up to 2.5, wt. % nonomeric unblocked polyisocyanate. (B) has formula H2N-R-NH2 or R'N(H)-(R2)m -(NH-(R2)n-1-N(H)R3 (R = straight chain or branched -(CH2)2-36-, 1 or 6 specified mono- or di-nuclear cycloaliphatic structures, e.g., 1, 2- or 1, 4-cyclohexylene, 1 of 5 specified mono- or di-nuclear aromatic structures, e.g., 2, 4- or 2, 6-toluylene, or N-(2', 2', 6', 6'-tetramethylpiperid-4'-yl)-4 azaheptylene; R' is same or different from R3 and = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, opt. with branched alkyl; R2 = CH2-, opt. with branched alkyl (sic); m = 2-8; x = 2-8. (B) is dodecamethylene-1, 12-diamine, 3, 3'-dimethyl-4, 4' diaminodicyclohexylmethane, tetraethylenepentamine, pentaethylenehexamine, or 4, 4'-diaminodiphenylmethane, partic. 4, 4'-diaminodicyclohexylmethane, 1, 4-bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexane, isophoronediamine, 2, 2, 4- or 2, 4, 4-trimethyl hexamethylenediamine or its mixt. |
