titleOfInvention METHOD FOR PRODUCING IMIDAZOLIDINONES AND OXAZOLIDINONES.
abstract A new, electrochemical method for the preparation of (I), imidazolidine-2-ones and oxazolidine-2-ones, is described, by electrolysis of formamides (II), where A = -O- or -NH- and R1, R2, R3, R4 are H, alkyl C1-C6 or aryl and X = OH or NHCHO. The electrochemical oxidation is performed in an alcohol, with an ionic halide, using graphite electrodes and a current density of 1-25 A/dm2 at temperatures up to 120 deg.C.
