titleOfInvention BATTERY CHARGER
abstract A charger (1) for batteries (2) contains a series circuit consisting of a switch element, a choke and the battery to be charged. A direct-current voltage is applied to the series circuit. The switch element is controlled by a pulse-width modulator (70). The pulse width is adjusted in function of the difference between the battery voltage and a predetermined charging voltage. The battery is charged with a charging current whose frequency is equal to that of the series resonance circuit constituted by the battery and the choke.
