abstract A process for de-inking printed waste paper by treating the paper stock with the usual de-inking chemicals and subsequently separating the detached printing inks off by flotation, the flotation being carried out in the presence of a cationic dicyandiamide resin. In this way, not only the filler content is considerably reduced, but at the same time an increase in whiteness and brightness and also an improvement in the strength of the treated paper are obtained.
