titleOfInvention CATHODIC CORROSION PROTECTION
abstract The invention relates to the cathodic protection against corrosion in systems operating in a marine environment, for example ships' hulls or offshore installations. For this purpose, an external energy source (15) is used which feeds direct current through an anode (2) fixed to the structure (1) which is to be protected. According to the invention, the current-supplying, plate- or rod-shaped or other anode (2) is fixed by means of a ceramic fixing unit to the structure (1) which is to be protected. This fixing unit can be a baseplate (3), a support ring, a housing or the like consisting of an electrically insulating material, whereby the ceramic substance effectively insulates the current-supplying anode (2) against the structure (1) which is to be protected, and at the same time embeds the anode at least at the side edges. In this way, the anode itself is protected from the effects of forces acting from the outside. <IMAGE>
