Mechanical soot filter device having a soot filter which comprises at least one honeycomb body made of porous, e.g. ceramic, material having axial gas inlet and outlet ducts alternately closed at the ends of the honeycomb body, a hot gas source being axially directed onto a part-area of one end of the soot filter and the soot filter and the hot gas source being arranged to be movable relative to each other in such a way that during one cycle of the relative movement of the soot filter, all part-areas of the end of the soot filter are sequentially assigned at least once to the hot gas source. |
