abstract | A novel process is provided for the preparation of the 5-amino-1-aryl-3-methylpyrazoles of the formula (I) <IMAGE> in which Ar represents optionally substituted phenyl or optionally substituted pyridyl. The compounds of the formula (I) are obtained according to the invention by reacting arylhydrazines of the formula (II> Ar-NH-NH2 (II> in which Ar has the abovementioned meaning, with 2-chloro-3-cyanopropene of the formula (III) <IMAGE> if appropriate in the presence of a diluent, if appropriate in the presence of an acid-binding agent and if appropriate in the presence of a catalyst. The compounds of the formula (I) are intermediates which are known, for example, for the preparation of insecticidally active arylpyrazoles. |
